Heavy lifting is the job

A full-size refrigerator can weigh 250 pounds or more, and the hard part is usually the path: tight kitchens, porch steps, a garage packed around it. We bring a dolly and straps, protect floors and door frames, and take it out without you lifting a corner.

Please make sure the appliance is unplugged, the water line is shut off for fridges and washers, and the freezer is empty. Gas stoves and dryers must be disconnected by a licensed professional before we arrive — we don't touch gas lines.

Refrigerant appliances

Refrigerators, freezers, window and portable AC units, dehumidifiers and water coolers contain refrigerant that has to be recovered before the metal is recycled. That's the $25 add-on on our price list: it covers the extra handling, not a markup.

Recycled, not dumped

Appliances are mostly steel, copper and aluminum. Whenever we can, they go to a scrap recycler instead of a landfill. Working units in good condition can go to donation if the charity is accepting that type.

Pricing at a glance

One washer, dryer, stove or dishwasher on its own starts at $99. A refrigerator or freezer is $124–$174 including the refrigerant fee. A washer and dryer pair is about a quarter trailer. Adding appliances to a bigger cleanout only adds their share of trailer space plus any refrigerant fee.
